The Deputy Minister of Defence, Bekim Maksuti, together with the mayor of the Municipality of Tetovo, Teuta Arifi, and members of the Army, planted today 80 seedlings of evergreen trees near the Pena River hydropower plant as part of the activity of the Ministry and Army for planting 315 seedlings, and within the Government’s agenda for the fight against air pollution.
Maksuti, who actively participated in the activity, said that the realization of this activity is another indication of the close civil military cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the Army with the local authorities.
“We are carrying out this activity together with the local authorities, concretely today we are in Tetovo. The idea of a green Tetovo fits into the Government’s agenda from December 2018 when the activity for planting new seedlings on the entire territory of the country was initiated. We are continuing with the realization of these activities and we are always ready together with our members to help the local authorities, jointly and in the future to protect our land and our nature”, said Deputy Minister Maksuti
Mayor Arifi thanked the members of the Army and the Ministry for the realization of this activity and for the support for a cleaner Tetovo. Arifi sent a message to the citizens of Tetovo who often go for walks, to preserve the nature and the environment.
The activity of planting new seedlings continues in the Municipality of Kichevo, where 85 seedlings will be planted.
