A senior military delegation of the Army of the Republic of Slovenia, led by the Chief of General Staff, Major General Alenka Ermenc, is today in an official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia at the invitation of the Chief of GS of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski
During the visit, Major General Alenka Ermenc held a meeting with the Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska.
At the meeting, Minister Shekerinska expressed gratitude for the support of the Republic of Slovenia during our NATO membership. The Minister congratulated Major General Ermenc on the post of Chief of the Armed Forces of Slovenia. Shekerinska said that the rapid ratification of the Accession Protocol by the Republic of Slovenia is a political message that this support will continue and that the two countries are strengthening the partnership and defence cooperation. On the meeting they also discussed the upcoming large exercise in Krivolak in June, hosted by our country, and where the United States, Bulgaria, Albania, Montenegro and Lithuania will take part. Minister Shekerinska said that the exercise, which will be the largest of this kind so far, will be a test for our country’s logistics and military capacities.
The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Slovenia, Alenka Ermenc, congratulated Minister Shekerinska on her efforts in the country’s European integration processes and stressed her significant role at home and abroad in the preparations for the accession of the Republic of North Macedonia to NATO.
