Seven members of the Army are returning tomorrow from the mission in Afghanistan

Seven members of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, who are part of NATO’s “Resolute Support” mission in Afghanistan, will return tomorrow to our country.

Their return will be realized with a special flight of the Croatian company “Croatia Airlines”, organized by the Government of the Republic of Croatia with the purpose of returning their 11 members from the international mission in Afghanistan.

The members of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia are expected to arrive tomorrow in the evening hours and then be transported to our country. Upon their arrival, in accordance with the recommendations of the Government and the Ministry of Health, they will be sent to a two-week quarantine which is mandatory for all citizens returning from abroad.

Today, the Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska, thanked the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Croatia, Damir Krsticevic, for the joint effort and assistance in the return of our soldiers. The two ministers concluded that the care and health of the members of the army forces are a priority in these times.

Part of our existing rotation in the NATO mission in Afghanistan will soon return to the Republic of North Macedonia due to the general reduction of Alliance forces, including the Turkish contingent where we are participating, during this period.
