The soldiers in the Ilinden barracks will be in renovated buildings as of November

After putting into operation the renovated and modernized facility in the barracks in Kumanovo, as of November several units of the Army in the Ilinden barracks in Skopje will move to renovated facilities within the barracks. The Honour Battalion, the popular guard, the Ranger Battalion, the Signals Battalion and the Third Logistics Battalion will be accommodated in two completely renovated buildings in the barracks.

Minister Radmila Shekerinska and the Chief of General Staff, General Vasko Gjurchinovski, inspected the renovation of the facilities. At the inspection, Minister Shekerinska was introduced with the reconstruction process and the associated interventions that will be undertaken in order for the army members that will work in these facilities to have all the necessary conditions for functioning. At the moment, these two facilities are in the advanced phase of renovation, and in a few days another facility in the same barracks will begin to be renovated. The reconstruction includes the installation of new electrical, water and heating installations. The floors, windows and doors are being replaced, a new energy-efficient facade is being installed, the roof structure is being replaced and new sidewalks are being built around the facilities.

Only a month ago, in the area of the Boro Menkov barracks in Kumanovo, a completely renovated and modernized building according to NATO standards was put into use, which is used by the Southeast Europe Brigade, hosted by the Republic of North Macedonia. The ruined building was turned into a beautiful functional building in record time, for which the Ministry of Defence received praise from the command team of the Brigade.
