Brigadier General John Bowron of the United Kingdom Armed Forces will replace Brigadier General Hugh Lloyd-Jones as the advisor to the Army in the process of its transformation in accordance with Alliance standards. To that end, today at the Ministry of Defence, Minister Radmila Shekerinska and British Ambassador Rachel Galloway signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Republic of North Macedonia and the United Kingdom.
“This is a real example that the alliance is working. We are grateful to the United Kingdom for continuously supporting our Army in the most significant development processes, such as its transformation”, Minister Shekerinska said.
Ambassador Galloway said that the United Kingdom is ready to continue and deepen the already established cooperation in the defence, which gives excellent results in the transformation of the Army.
General Bowron has extensive experience in the British Armed Forces, has served in operations and missions in Bosnia and Iraq, and has also been part of the forces for the development of the Palestinian Security Forces in the West Bank and Jerusalem. His last position is at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom where he also led the transformation of the Academy.
