Prime Minister Zaev to lead the delegation from the Government of North Macedonia at the NATO Leaders Meeting in London marking the 70th anniversary of the Alliance

The Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev will lead the delegation of our country comprised of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska, the Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Dimitrov at the NATO Leaders Meeting held in London, on 3 and 4 December, marking the 70the anniversary of the Alliance.

The meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) of the Heads of State and/or Government on Wednesday, 4 December, in which Prime Minister Zaev will take part has a central place in the programme, as North Macedonia will be represented at the highest level in the work of the bodies of the Alliance, after the signing of the protocol for the membership of North Macedonia in the Alliance, which has so far been ratified by 28 NATO members.

By participating in the leaders meeting of the member states, North Macedonia is reaffirming its commitment to fully share the principles of common security and building strong transatlantic relations with the most powerful military and political alliance based on democratic values, as the basis for common prosperity and progress of the member countries.

The anticipated NATO membership is the achievement of the strategic goal of our country laid down by consensus in 1993, which provides ideal conditions for enhanced and accelerated economic development.

Today, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev will participate on the panel “Conversations – Defence and Deterrence for a New Era” as part of the conference “NATO Engages: Innovating the Alliance”.

Among the panellists, besides Prime Minister Zaev, is the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

Prime Minister Zaev and the members of the delegation of the Government of North Macedonia, during the two-day NATO summit in London will hold several bilateral meetings.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has been invited to an audience with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace, which is organized for all delegations, in honour of the NATO leaders meeting, as well as to the dinner for the Heads of State and/or

Government organized by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson.
