North Macedonia among 11 allies who launched the initiative to create a NATO Flight Training Europe

Slika_potpisuvanjeDefence Minister Radmila Shkerinska, along with 10 other defence ministers from member states of the Alliance, signed a Letter of Intent launching the Multinational Initiative to establish the NATO Flight Training Europe structure.

This initiative will enable the establishment of a network of Pilot Training Centres that will meet the needs of several European allies’ pilot training, who themselves do not develop this type of capacity. This network will have an even greater interoperability between the allies, reduce the cost of pilot training and is a true example of the concept of sharing the burden between NATO member states.

North Macedonia includes the Pilot Training Centre in this initiative, which includes both modernized Mi-17 and Mi-24 helicopter simulators.

The defence ministers of Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey and Minister Shekerinska, virtually signed the Letter of Intent immediately after the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence.
