Advisory support from the United Kingdom in anticipation of our full-fledged NATO membership

As a NATO member state, our visibility is increasing and we are therefore intensifying our cooperation with partner countries and armies. Today, at a meeting at the Ministry of Defence, Minister of Defence Radmila Shekerinska and the British Ambassador to our country Rachel Galloway signed a Memorandum on the appointment of a UK adviser to the Ministry of Defence. The advisory role will be played by Brigadier General Hugh Lloyd Jones, who will work alongside our structures to improve the Army operational capabilities over the next six months. The Brigadier General will provide his advice in the key areas of functioning of the Ministry of Defence and the Army General Staff, which will be invaluable to us as a new member of the Alliance.

Minister Shekerinska and Ambassador Galloway emphasized the importance of the two countries’ defense cooperation and expressed their mutual satisfaction that it will be further expanded in the interest of both sides.
