Army with the citizens – an open day in the City Park in Skopje, special force, honour guards, military band, helicopter flight

Today, in the City Park in Skopje, the army honour guards, members of the special units, military band, and members of the police special force unit and the aviation brigade showed their skills to the citizens of our country.

Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska said that today’s activity, and other events as part of the celebration of the NATO Week, the Ministry and the Army sent the message that our country is ready to be 30th member of the Alliance.

“We are leaving a difficult process behind us, it required a lot of patience, a lot of energy, but today, this year, we can say that as a country we succeeded. With such events, contacts with citizens, we are showing that everything that we have done was for the citizens to be safer and have more opportunities for them and for our country“, she added. Shekerinska thanked the citizens for their interest in these events.

The open day featured children from the association “Trisomy 21”.

Today, were selected the three best essays on the topic “NATO and YOU” – the high-school students, Vlora Abdullahu, Petrina Stankovska and Mima Vojnovska have been awarded a study trip to the Alliance’s headquarters in Brussels. We also know the names of the first three contestants from the 5k and 3k race, as part of yesterday’s NATO – athletics race. The six best will be representing us at the international marathon in Budapest.
