The Ministry of Defence is the leader of the list of all institutions at the central and local level in active transparency; was announced today in its annual report on the Index of Active Transparency 2020 by the Centre for Civil Communications.
This is a jump of 40 places according to active transparency by the Ministry of Defence in just three years.
“For the first time in the last five years since this index was introduced, one ministry is at the top of the table. This year, the Ministry of Defence is in first place with the greatest active transparency.
The Ministry of Defence has the largest increase, and with 97.9% it is the best ranked ministry, but also the best ranked institution of all 98″, the report reads.
“Active transparency” means the publication of information on the institutions’ own initiative, without anyone submitting a request for access to that information.
Over the past three years major strides have been made in giving access to information about the work in the Ministry of Defence. The fact that in the previous years we are at the top, and this year in first place, shows that the Ministry of Defence as a responsible institution does not deviate from the set commitment to be fully open to the public and citizens for whom we exist.
