During his visit to Croatia, today, in Zagreb, State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Dragan Nikolikj met with State Secretary of the Croatian Ministry of Defence, Tomislav Ivić.
State Secretaries Nikolikj and Ivić confirmed the excellent defence relations and discussed their future enhancement. At the meeting, Nikolikj and Ivić discussed the Croatian experience from participating in the so-called “Framework Nation Concept” of NATO led by Italy, where in addition to Croatia, other countries, i.e. Albania, Austria Slovenia, Hungary and Montenegro are also taking part.
One of the topics on the meeting was the forthcoming Croatian presidency of the European Union from January the following year, whereby State Secretary Nikolikj conveyed his appreciation for the sincere support of Croatia, and expressed hope that the support would continue in the efforts to take part in the non-formal meetings of Defence Ministers of the EU member states, where the topic of discussion is the development of the Common Security and Defence Policy of the Union.
The delegation from the Republic of North Macedonia led by the State Secretary was comprised of the acting Ambassador of our country in Zagreb, Nazif Xhaferi and Colonel Goran Stojanovski from the Department for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Defence.
