Closing of the COOPERATIVE LONGBOW/LANCER 2012
Today, 29 May (Tuesday) a closing ceremony for the exercise COOPERATIVE LONGBOW/LANCER 2012 was held at the Training Centre Pepelishte at 12.00 hrs. In addition to ARM members, members from 15 other armies from NATO and PfP countries also took part in this exercise.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the ARM, Major General Naser Sejdini, the Deputy Chief of Staff of NATO Allied Force Command Madrid, General Joel Rivault, the commanders of the subordinate units and other guests.
The exercise was planned by NATO Allied Force Command – Madrid, Spain and the Joint Operation Command of the ARM. PfP participating countries included Azerbaijan, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine, Montenegro and Switzerland, NATO participating countries were the US and Spain, while NATO countries from the Force Command Madrid were France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Great Britain and the US.
During the exercise, the members of the NATO Allied Force Command – Madrid expressed their deep appreciation for the commitment of the ARM members during the exercise.
On this occasion, Major General Naser Sejdini stated: I am convinced that all members will leave this exercise with a large experience and will use the lessons learned in their respective armies, enhancing thus the relations with NATO and identifying the priorities for further cooperation.
Major General Joel Rivault underlined: This exercise has become a reality only as a result of the dedication, effort and will to share the knowledge with all participants and I thank you for that and he declared the exercise COOPERATIVE LONGBOW/LANCER 2012 closed.
The evaluation of the medium infantry battalion group completed as part of the exercise COOPERATIVE LONGBOW/LANCER 2012
Today, 24 May 2012, NATO evaluation Level 1 was completed at the Army Range krivolak, while at the Training Centre Pepelishte the units participating in the exercise COOPERATIVE LONGBOW/LANCER 2012 continued with their planned activities. The medium infantry battalion group carried out procedures for possible soil contamination, marking and making a passage through amine field and for artillery attack. This was followed by the incidents by which the evaluation of the medium infantry battalion group was finished.
Today, as part of the exercise COOPERATIVE LONGBOW/LANCER 2012 a sand box simulation was conducted, as well as training for and use of armored carriers, training of the role players and joint exercises.
The simulated exercise as part of the COOPERATIVE LONGBOW/LANCER 2012 continued at Pepelishte.
Tomorrow, 25 May (Friday), the planned activities in the framework of the exercise COOPERATIVE LONGBOW/LANCER 2012 continue; a cultural day is planned for the participants in the exercise and a visit to Ohrid.
Second day of the assessment of Middle Infantry Battalion Group exercise
“Cooperative Longbow / Lancer 2012″
Today, 23 May 2012, in the course of the second day of the NATO Evaluation Level-1 at the Army Training Area Krivolak and the Training Center (TC) Pepelishte, the units participating in the exercise Cooperative Longbow/ Lancer 2012 continued according to the planned activities.
The Middle Infantry Battalion Group performed the procedures for patrolling and establishing mobile control points, forming a cordon and searching the terrain, forming a look-out, followed by the procedures of escorting VIP-persons and at the end carrying out offensive (attack) operations and reaction to an improvised explosive device.
In the course of the day, the Chief of Staff of the ARM, Major General Gorancho Koteski together with the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Paul Wohlers visited the TC Pepelishte, Camp Strela and the Camp Facility Zima, where they had the opportunity to see the modernization of the infrastructure and accommodation facilities.
The visit was covered by certain electronic and printed media in the Republic of Macedonia.
Tomorrow, May 24 (Thursday) – the planned activities of exercise Cooperative Longbow/ Lancer 2012 will continue.
The evaluation of the Medium Infantry Battalion Group has begun
Today, 22 May 2012, the execution of the field exercise “Cooperative Longbow / Lancer 2012” continued at the Military Range “Krivolak” and the Training Centre “Pepelishte”.
In accordance with the plan, the Medium Infantry Battalion Group began the NATO Evaluation Level 1 today, where the following activities were realized: escorting a convoy with the evacuation of an injured person, patrolling and establishing a mobile control point, reaction to an improvised explosive device, establishing a watchtower.
The received grade during the evaluation was submitted to the declared company for the composition of the European Union Battle Group (EU BG II/2012) and the NBC Defence Section, which is from the composition of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade, and today the results have been returned to the parent unit.
Today, the participants of the exercise “Cooperative Longbow/Lancer 2012” continued to conduct the activities of the exercise by receiving additional guidelines from the Commander of the Exercise and the process of analyzing the mission began with this.
Tomorrow, 23 May (Wednesday), the planned activities of the exercise “Cooperative Longbow / Lancer 2012” continue and the announced visit of the Chief of General Staff of the ARM, Major General Gorancho Koteski, together with the US Ambassador in the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Paul Wohlers, will be carried out.
