Army getting new sports equipment

Another important project launched in 2019 has been successfully completed – for the first time, the members of the Army have received sports equipment, in the first phase 1,200 sets have been provided for the soldiers in the Ilinden barracks, as well as for the soldiers in the Shtip barracks, the General Staff and the Military Academy. By the end of the year the new sports equipment will be available to all members of the Army informed Defence Minister Radmila Shekerinska during her visit to the Ilinden barracks.

“To have the army when the state needs it, when the citizens need it, we have to be with the army in peace time, we need to invest in the Army without having a crisis. The Government has shown that it is truly investing in the Army, with bigger salaries, with greater investments and with better working conditions”, said Minister Shekerinska.

This process was only the first step, said the minister, adding that the second phase will begin in the coming days, and by the end of the year, virtually all members of our army are expected to receive the new sports sets which together with the investments in the sports equipment will ensure that we have a more physically prepared and fit Army and an Army that really knows that it is expected to do much more.

The good physical fitness and good quality of the army members could be seen at the international futsal competition in Kabul, Afghanistan, where in competition with nine teams our peacekeepers won first place and raised the winning trophy.
