As a result of the initiative of the Mission of the Republic of Macedonia to NATO and with the support of the NATO Public Diplomacy Department, a group of students and professors from the five state universities in the Republic of Macedonia is visiting the NATO HQ in Brussels.
In the course of their visit, the students got familiarized with NATO’s current agenda, the new security threats and challenges, NATO’s relations with the Republic of Macedonia, as well as with NATO’s activities in Afghanistan. In addition, the students had the opportunity to visit the Mission of the Republic of Macedonia to NATO, where Ambassador Martin Trenevski informed them about the efforts of the Mission for affirmation of the interests of the Republic of Macedonia within NATO.
The group of students and professors includes members of five state institutions in the Republic of Macedonia: the university “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”, as the coordinator of the visit from the Republic of Macedonia, Tetovo State University, the universities from Bitola and Shtip and the Military Academy from Skopje.
The goal of the visit is to enhance the cooperation and dialogue between the Alliance and the Republic of Macedonia and to affirm the youth from our country in their future efforts to become part of NATO and the EU.
